Most people don’t retire anymore. Rather they achieve financial independence. How much you need to be financially independent depends entirely on how much you spend. Most people need to accumulate at least 20 times their annual spending to be financially independent.

We believe that our clients who are working towards financial independence need a simple plan. We build each client a one page model (supported by multiple pages of calculations) that accounts for savings, spending, inflation, a rate of investment return, taxes, and the effect of IRA or 401(k)s. We review the model periodically verifying the client is meeting their plan. Our clients take great comfort in understanding whether or not they are “on track”, and the reasons why their wealth building is better or worse than the model.
